Blogged Out

I think I'm going to have to take a break from reading blogs (except for those about history) until after the election. I've really been disappointed in how snarky some folks have gotten -- I suppose they believe that snarkiness equals wit -- which sometimes it can but not so much in these cases. It amazes me how disrespectful people can be -- to the candidates, to their wives & families, to their supporters -- and I mean both candidates -- not to mention to other posters who are just sharing their opinions. All I know is that I try my best to treat even those who disagree with me with respect. It's not that anybody has really said anything to me personally -- but it's the tone that's coming across that I'm having trouble with. That holier-than-thou-you're-so-stupid tone. I've had enough. And I've had enough of grown people acting like their shoe size instead of their age. Okay, so I'm having an old fart moment. So be it. And God help us all because we're going to need it.

  1. As far as I'm concerned 'God bless old farts!' - I'm up for full membership of that community too!

And even though I'm in the UK - the same arguments are happening here too! It's not even as if it's our country that's having the election!

I like your Halloween thingy at the top by the way!

  2. Oh, yeah! Another old fart!! There can never be enough of us!! LOL!!

I thought the Halloween thing was cute -- I wanted it on the side but, when I put it there, it wouldn't "move" -- and the movement was part of the charm!!
